  3. Hi, Gina! Thank you very much for the great words! It's interesting to learn more about the partners. We found your town on the map. It's in the southern part of Italy and the weather is warm, isn't it?

  4. PS: And something interesting about your town... I wanted to know about the name of it. What does it mean? "Francavilla" is a free village, isn't it? The village is called "Francavilla" because the settlers were freed from paying taxes, “Franca” means tax-free. Is it true,Gina? What about "in sinni"?
    Kind regards, Reny

  5. PS: Is "Sinni" a river? I read that it's a river in your region Potenza, Basilicata?

  6. Francavilla in Sinni is the name of our town. In Origin , in the Middle Age, its name was Villa Franca , as you said, tax-free, because its inhabitant didn't pay taxes (We'll tell you better the story with our children works), but now we pay them just like every Italian citizen!!!! Due "In Sinni" means near the river Sinni. Sinni is one of the four main rivers we have in Basilicata region and our town in just on a little hill on a bank of it.
    All the best!

  8. Thank you, Gina! The information about your town is very interesting and we are going to share your story with our pupils. Hope that they will like it. You can learn more about Sofia from Wikipedia. The song from the video is too famous. Our folk singer Stefka Sabotinova presents it. This is a song about the mountains and the people, about the nature and the human feelings. Its name is "The mountain sank below the horizon".
