European Language Label 2011!

Dear friends,

our project was awarded in Italy with the "European Language Label 2011". I received the Label on 4th October during a big conference in Rome organized by the Italian Ministry of Education (MIUR) and by the Italian LLP Agency. I stayed in Rome for three days: it was a remarkable experience and receiving the Label was a really great emotion!!!

I share it with all of you, protagonists of the project just like me! Thanks to everyone!

il nostro progetto è stato premiato in Italia con il " Label Europeo delle lingue 2011". Ho ricevuto il Label il 4 Ottobre durante una grande conferenza a Roma organizzata dal Ministero dell' Istruzione italiano (MIUR) e dall'Agenzia Italiana LLP. Sono stata a Roma per tre giorni: è stata una ragguardevole esperienza e ricevere il Label è stata veramente una grande emozione!!!

24 May, The Day Of Slavonic Alphabet, Bulgarian Enlightenment and Culture

Dear, friends and partners!
24th May is a Day that has no analogue among the other nations - the Day of literature, enlightenment, culture. It’s a holiday of spiritual rising, perfection striving for scientific and cultural achievements. The letters created by Saints Cyril and Methodius, their translations of the liturgical books, their fight to protect the rights of all nations to do honour of God in their own languages have a historical significance to Bulgarian national developing and its prosperity. Their life work is human, democratic, and Slavonic. It becomes part of the general human idea for equality at the spiritual field.
Nowadays Cyrillic Alphabet is used not only by Bulgarian people, but also by Serbians, Montenegrins, Russians, Belorussians, as well as by many others non Slavonic nations - about 200 million people/Wikipedia/.

The big news this week in UK is that Prince William (who is son of the deceased Princess Diana) and grandson of the Queen is getting married on Friday 29th April and the WHOLE country has been given a day off to celebrate !

Hot Cross Buns

Happy Easter, dear Gina and pupils!
We'd like to wish you a lot of health and a good luck!
Many people eat hot cross buns at Easter. These are a kind of bread, made with fruit and spices, and they have a white cross on top. In Bulgaria people make sweet bread called "kozunak" and small buns with eggs inside - "kolache".
We'like to share the old song about them:

Easter Drawings

Dear, Italian friends!
Do you know that the word "Easter" comes from "Eostre", the old name for the goddess of spring? On Easter Sunday, people give chocolate Easter eggs as presents. This tradition started in Europe in the early nineteenth century and came to Britain in the 1870s. Some mothers and fathers tell their children that the Easter Rabbit brings the eggs and hides them in the garden, and the children must go outside and look for them.
This a small part of the different stories about Easter. We'd like to share the video and the works of our children. Hope that you will like it.
