Qualcosa sul latte / Something about milk

Abbiamo coinvolto i nostri alunni in un progetto sul latte con lo scopo di educarli a corrette abitudini alimentari e di avvicinarli al consumo di questo alimento importantissimo per la loro crescita. Le attività di progetto, svolte in maniera interdisciplinare, hanno coinvolto quasi tutte le discipline compresa la lingua inglese e nella fase conclusiva sono state realizzate attività di sperimentazione in classe e la visita ad un laboratorio caseario artigianale presente nel territorio. Gli alunni hanno così potuto osservare in prima persona quanto appreso teoricamente.
We involved our children in a project about milk to educate them to correct food habits and to draw them near this very important food for their growth. The project activities , carried out in a cross-curricular way, involved all the subjects included English Language and in the conclusive phase we made experimentation activities in the classroom and a visit to a handicraft cheese factory available in our territory. Children could observe personally what they learnt in a theoretical way.

Poi,utilizzando Windows Movie Maker, i bambini hanno realizzato, con le loro mani, un filmato con disegni e voci in cui si sono esercitati con il lessico relativo al latte.
Then, using Windows Movie Maker, the children made, by their hands, a video with drawings and voices in which they practiced the lexis about milk.

It's Spring! /E' Primavera!

Ecco come i nostri bambini hanno memorizzato il lessico relativo alla primavera ed acquisito conoscenze interdisciplinari.

Infine la realizzazione di un filmato, nel laboratorio linguistico, con i disegni prodotti e una filastrocca registrata/ Finally the realization af a video, in the linguistic lab, with the drawings they made and a chant they recorded.

La Domenica delle Palme / The Palm Sunday

Un tempo era tradizione, nel nostro paese, preparare, per la Domenica delle Palme, palme particolari intrecciando le foglie di ulivo. Con le nuove generazioni questa tradizione è andata perdendosi e viene mantenuta solo in qualche piccola frazione. La nostra maestra Giuseppina ha portato a scuola dei rami di ulivo e ci ha preparato delle palme usando quell’antica tecnica.
Ha fatto così:
-Ha tagliato da alcuni rametti di ulivo tante coppie di foglioline
-Ha preso altri rametti e li ha privati delle foglie
-Ha intrecciato sui rametti nudi con maestria le coppie di foglie preparate prima e le ha fissate ben bene alle estremità
-Ha decorato tutto con nastrini dorati e.. le nostre palme erano finalmente pronte!
Per quest’anno abbiamo solo guardato, l’anno prossimo le prepareremo noi!

Once upon a time preparing, for the Palm Sunday, particular palms interlacing the olive leaves was a tradition, in our town. With the new generations this tradition has been loosing and is kept only in some little village. Our teacher Giuseppina brought at school some little olive branches and prepared for us some palms using that ancient technique.
She made in this way:
-She cut from some little olive branches many couples of leaves
-She got other little branches and deprived them of the leaves
-She interlaced on the naked little branches the couples of leaves prepared first with skill and fixed them well at the ends.
-She decorated everything with golden strings and … finally our palms were ready!
This year we only looked at her, next year we’ll prepare them for ourselves!

About Carnival!

Carnival is something we do not do quite so well in the U.K. although various towns, villages and cities will hold a Summer fete each year and have travelling musicians, dancers, jugglers etc. but it somehow never seems to have the party spirit of carnivals in the rest of Europe ! (Apart from, perhaps, the London Notting Hill Carnival each August which is chiefly Caribbean in theme and attracts about 1 million people each year).

Carnival è qualcosa che non facciamo molto bene nel Regno Unito sebbene molti paesi, villaggi e città fanno una festa estiva ogni anno e hanno musicisti itineranti, danzatori, giocolieri ecc. Sembra, però, che nessuno abbia lo spirito della festa dei Carnevali nel resto d'Europa!(Eccetto, forse, il Carnevale di Notting Hill di Londra ogni Agosto che è soprattutto a tema caraibico e attira circa 1 milione di persone ogni anno).
